ampi Utsav 2023 (Hampi Festival or the Vijaya Utsav) is a 3 day cultural extravaganza showcasing the artistic richness of Karnataka at the spectacular backdrop of Hampi.The main venues are Gayatri Peetha, Virupaksha Temple, and Eduru Basavanna Temple . All are closer to core zone of Hampi.
What to expect
Grand procession Decorated Jambu Safari with elephants and men dressed as soldiers, recreating the the festivity ambiant of the Vijayanagara Era.
Competitions: themed on photography , rural sports, Bouldering, Rangoli, Mehndi art, and water sports.
Cultural ShowsPuppet shows, Music performances, Dance shows, Drama, street performances from Karnataka and other regions of India. Also folk songs and dances in Janapada Kalavahini (concert of folk songs & performances).
Fireworks A Spectacular firework complements the celebrations at Hampi Utsava
Exhibitions Stone sculptures, paintings, books and other exhibitions. Shopping for Handlooms and Handicrafts in Karnataka
‘Hampi by Sky‘ Helicopter ride is organised to enjoy the aerial view of Hampi till 30th January. The 6-7 minute ride covers important places of Hampi. Location: Hotel Mayura Bhuvaneshwari.
Light and Sound Show Anelaya temple premises from January 26th to February 2nd (7 PM to 10 PM) to showcase the Vijayanagara empire. Also watch the illuminated Monuments in the evening.
Food Courts Showcase the best of Karnataka cuisine and from other regions.
