Lord Vishnu reclining on the coiled serpent called Sesha. The hood of the serpent makes a cover over Vishnu's head. You can also spot the symbols of Vishnu, the conch and the Chakta (the discus of Vishnu) near his hands. His first left arm supports his head and the second left arm holds the Chakra. The first right arm holds the Counch, called Panchajanya the other right hand rests on his body. Seen in the middle above Vishnu is the creator god Brahma. The four headed Brahma sits on a lotus flower sprouted out of Vishnu's naval. At the right extreme, sitting by the feet of Vishnu are his two consorts. You can also spot the club of Vishnu near his feet. The whole image is carved on the vertical face of a large boulder. The sanctorum is built around this image, a technique used in many temples in Hampi. This is in the temple called Rangatha Temple, located at the end of the Courtesan's Street by the riverside.
