There are no direct trains from Chennai to Hospet ( for Hampi). However if you are willing to split your journey there are some feasible connections.

From Hospet railway station, you can reach Hampi by the local bus or Hire a auto-rickshaw directly . Hampi ruins is about 13 kilometers from Hospet town. Hospet railway station and bus stand are about 2 kilometers apart.
There are some private buses directly to Hospet from Chennai. Meenakshi Travels operate Non A/C Sleeper (2+1) overnight service to Hospet. Further you can travel to Hampi by local bus/auto rickshaw.
