This area (Hampi Bazaar) is the top choice among budget tourists & backpackers. Monuments like the Virupaksha Temple, Hampi Bazaar, Hemakuta Hills etc are at walking distance from the Hampi village. Many guest houses offer view of the temple tower, boulder hill or the river. So the popularity of this locale.
Most of the guesthouses are cramped in a ½km x ½km residential portion of the Hampi village, sandwiched between the river and the ancient Hampi Bazaar.
Kadirampura Homestays
Kadirampura (New Hampi village) is a tiny village 3km south of Hampi.The guesthouses in the area are relatively new and tidy compared to the Hampi village guest houses. In most of the homes, the family stays at the downstair & they serve home cooked food from their kitchen.
Guest Houses in Sanapur and Anegundi
Many guest houses are located sparingly on the Gangavathi road located along the northern side of the Tungabhadra River, between Sanapur and Anegundi. Sanapur village is 4km northwest of Hampi. Anegundi is 2km north of the famous Vittala Temple of Hampi.
Virupapur Gadde guest houses : This erstwhile party scene of Hampi is mostly closed down. If you looking for similar vibes, check the cafe's and homestays around Sanapur.
